Thames Valley Contemporary Quilt (TVCQ) group has been inspired by the spirit of London 2012 to engage with the community and will involve over 30 textile artists to create new pieces of work on the theme of Slough, its current environs, its history, and artefacts from Slough Museum’s collection.
All artists are welcome to participate in the project, including those without any current connections with the group. TVCQ will curate an exhibition of the contemporary textiles at Slough Museum (18 May – 11 June 2011), which will be free admission and accessible to all.
To accompany the exhibition, TVCQ and Slough Museum will hold family workshops during the May Half Term to experience creating contemporary textiles, inspiring young people and expanding links across the local community.
